Kid’s Kollege Preschool Goals
The goal of Kid’s Kollege Preschool is to present a well rounded, developmentally appropriate curriculum in a Christian environment.
Spiritual – To help children be aware that they are a child of God and, therefore, worthy of love, acceptance, and support.
Social – To help children feel comfortable in a school setting, trust their new environment, make friends, and feel like they are part of a group.
Emotional – To help children experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self-control, and have a positive attitude toward life
Cognitive – To help children become confident learners by letting them try out their own ideas and experience success, and by helping them acquire learning skills, such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions, and use words to describe ideas, observations and feelings.
Physical – To help children increase their large and small motor skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do.
Kid’s Kollege Preschool Curriculum
Weedville Wesleyan’s Kid’s Kollege Preschool uses Bible-based preschool curriculums called “Bright Beginnings” (Exploring God's World) and "Little Kids Time" (My Great Bid God), published by Gospel Light. They are made specifically for church preschool programs. The curriculums incorporate Bible stories, songs, and crafts into development activities. There are activities in art, language, math, science, and motor skills. The children will not only learn about numbers, letters, shapes and colors, but they will hear daily lessons of God’s love, power, and faithfulness.
For many children, this may be their very first encounter in a structured classroom setting. To help meet the challenge of keeping these energetic little ones involved in learning, our teachers will use a hands-on curriculum to engage the children in the lesson, making simple crafts, listening to lively worship songs, and still leaving plenty of time to just play and interact with their pals.
Activities will include:
· Art Center
· Bible Story time
· Block Center
· Chapel time
· Circle time
· Computer lab
· Dramatic play center
· Finger play
